3 act structure

Screenwriting Magic main aim is to write the standards-based script for the production of the film, video, theatre and new media. A 2-hour feature film shown in a movie theatre is a continuous action. There is no interval. It's one continuous act-less event which revolves around a problem. The 3 act structure is not a story structure. You can't find it in the romance and legends or other great stories of the past and you can not find nature. A much better way to look at a story, when you are creating one, is not through any arbitrary division into acts, but through the eyes of that problem, which is the central event and the heart of a great story's structure. One of the first things that producers check when reading the script is the length.
